How are you spending your summer? InterVarsity Christian Fellowship offers you a number of summer opportunities for training and service: Chapter Focus Week: At the end of a long school year, InterVarsity fellowships from the Great Lakes regions spend a week with students from other schools - for training, rest, and planning. During the week, you participate in one of a number of training tracks, join with other students worship and learning, and spend time bonding with your own fellowship. Chapter Focus Week is held at a couple different sites, including Cedar Campus, one of IVCF's training facilities. Join others from your chapter and students from other schools for a week of development, growth, and fun.
The School of Leadership Training: SLT is a four-week training program held at Cedar Campus, an InterVarsity training center in the upper penisula of Michigan, on the coast of Lake Huron. Spending a summer at Cedar Campus, specifically focused on one's spiritual growth, provides for an unforgettable summer of learning and relationship building. This program is designed for maturing students who wish to spend a month in intense training and discipleship. Please contact your staff worker if you are interested.
The Chicago Urban Program: In partnership with the Lawndale Community Church and the Rock of Our Salvation Free Church, InterVarsity hosts two summer programs in urban Chicago. Depending on the site, the program covers six or eight weeks. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in service and discipleship as they wrestle with God's heart for the inner-city. Students will be forced and challenged to wrestle with issues of racism and social injustice in our society. A summer experience with CUP can and will deepen a student's commitment to God's mission of reconcilliation and restoration. Other InterVarsity Urban Projects can be found here.
Global Missions Projects: Feed the hungry, heal the sick and preach the good news on one of our Service Projects. From the hospitals of Nairobi to the slums of Calcutta, find out what life is like for most of the world through the Global Urban Trek. Or get up close and personal with a college student from another country on our Lingua-Cultural Projects. If relationships are important to you, consider this extreme cross-cultural friendship plunge. Get paired up with an English student and spend the summer being real about your life, faith and interests.
