About Us
For over 50 years, InterVarsity Christian Fellowship has maintained a Christian presence at colleges and universities in Northern Illinois and Northwest Indiana. Through the many years of ministry, thousands of students have come through our fellowships. Since the early decades of ministry, the number of campuses and students served has grown tremendously. Students from different generations and cultures have found InterVarsity to be a place to explore faith, deepen in faith, and wrestle with how Christianity intersects with their lives.

In response to God's love, grace and truth: the purpose of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship/USA is to establish and advance at colleges and universities witnessing communitites of students and faculty who follow Jesus as Savior and Lord: growing in love for God, God's Word, God's people of every ethnicity and culture, and God's purposes in the world. As an interdenominational fellowship, a clear doctrinal basis is essential for unity, as we find solidarity in the beliefs we hold to be true. Our core commitments guide our ministry focus as we move forward on the campuses that we serve.

IVCF/USA is a member movement of the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students (IFES), an association of likeminded student movements in over 150 countries around the world. The IFES was formed in 1946 when the movements in ten countries including IVCF/USA to work and pray for a witness to Christ in every university in the world. Locally, the Northern Illinois and Northwest Indiana Division of IVCF/USA covers schools as far west as Rock Valley College, in Northern Illinois, and as far southeast as Valparaiso University in Northwest Indiana. We serve 1200 of students in 29 fellowships on 19 campuses, with a staff team of full time and part time ministers and with faithful volunteers. In addition to our campus ministries, we are committed to the Chicago Urban Program, which is hosted by the Division.
